Conditions treated

Mental health conditions we treat

Every plan starts with a clinical assessment. Depression treatment and PTSD treatment don't look the same — and neither do two people carrying the same diagnosis.

Depression treatment

Care for persistent low mood, loss of motivation, sleep and appetite changes, and thoughts of not wanting to be here — combining therapy with psychiatric evaluation.

Anxiety treatment

Treatment for chronic worry, physical tension, avoidance, and the racing mind that keeps you up at night, using CBT and exposure-based skills.

PTSD & trauma treatment

EMDR and trauma-focused therapy for flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, and numbing after single-incident or long-term trauma.

Bipolar disorder treatment

Mood stabilization, medication management, and skills for recognizing early warning signs of manic, hypomanic, and depressive episodes.

Mood disorder treatment

Care across the mood spectrum — major and persistent depression, bipolar I and II, cyclothymia, and seasonal or postpartum mood episodes, with accurate diagnosis first.

ADHD treatment

Evaluation, medication management, and executive-function coaching for adults struggling with focus, follow-through, and emotional regulation.

Panic disorder treatment

Targeted work on panic attacks, anticipatory fear, and the avoidance that shrinks your life around the next attack.

OCD treatment

Exposure and response prevention for intrusive thoughts and compulsive rituals, paired with medication when it's indicated.

Disordered eating treatment

CBT-E, DBT skills, and nutrition counseling for binge eating, restriction, purging, compulsive exercise, and body image distress in medically stable adults.

Dual-diagnosis mental health care

Integrated treatment when a mental health condition sits alongside alcohol, opioid, stimulant, or other substance use.

Therapies & modalities

Evidence-based modalities we use

These are the treatment approaches our Arlington clinicians actually practice — matched to your diagnosis, not applied to everyone the same way.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Targets the thought patterns driving depression and anxiety and replaces them with skills you can use in real situations.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Distress tolerance, emotion regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness for intense emotions and self-harm urges.

EMDR & trauma-focused therapy

Processes traumatic memories so the past stops driving today's panic, anger, and avoidance.

Exposure & response prevention (ERP)

The gold standard for OCD and phobias — structured, gradual exposure that retrains the fear response.

Psychiatric care & medication management

Board-certified psychiatric evaluation, and our medical staff may prescribe and provide ongoing monitoring — adjusted with you, not handed down.

Group therapy & psychoeducation

Process and skills groups where you practice what you're learning with people carrying something similar.

Family therapy & education

Sessions that rebuild communication, set workable boundaries, and teach families what real support looks like.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Collaborative, non-confrontational work that helps you resolve ambivalence about change at your own pace.

Levels of care

Levels of mental health care, from PHP to ongoing therapy

Most people who call aren't sure how much support they need. That's what the assessment is for — and you can step up or down as things change.

  1. 015 days/week · ~6 hrs/day

    Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our most structured outpatient mental health level of care. Full-day programming with daily group therapy, individual sessions, and psychiatric oversight, while you sleep at home. Often the right step after a hospitalization or when weekly therapy isn't holding.

  2. 023–5 days/week · day or evening

    Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Group and individual therapy several times a week with morning and evening tracks, so treatment fits around work, school, and family. A common step down from PHP and a strong start for people who are stable at home.

  3. 03Weekly · ongoing

    Outpatient therapy & medication management

Weekly individual therapy, psychiatric medication management, and skills groups that keep progress in place after intensive programming ends.

  4. 04Vetted partner network

    Higher level of care

When inpatient or residential psychiatric care is the safest first step, we coordinate placement with trusted, vetted providers and take the guesswork out of the handoff. Your plan resumes with us as soon as you're ready for outpatient care.

Our Arlington center is a short drive from Montgomery County, Prince George's County, and the broader Maryland suburbs. Many clients choose in-person PHP and IOP here because the commute is manageable and the program fits around work. Telehealth is available for Virginia residents between in-person visits.
