These are the approaches with the strongest research behind them for addiction, mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, and trauma. Most plans combine three or four.

Your assessment determines which modalities lead. EMDR carries the plan for one client; DBT skills carry it for another. Nobody gets a one-size-fits-all track.
CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR do the clinical work. Yoga, sound bath, reiki, and expressive arts support regulation and engagement — they complement treatment rather than replace it.
The same modalities run through PHP, IOP, and weekly outpatient care, so stepping down doesn't mean starting over with a new approach.
When substance use and a mental health condition are both present, one team applies these modalities to both at the same time rather than sequencing them.
Common questions
A treatment modality is a specific therapeutic approach — a defined method with its own techniques and evidence base. CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR are modalities; so are group therapy and expressive arts therapy. Most people in our programs receive several, combined into one coordinated plan.
A clinical assessment at admission looks at your diagnosis, trauma history, substance use, previous treatment, and what has and hasn't worked before. Your primary therapist builds the plan from there and adjusts it as you go — it isn't fixed at intake.
No. Yoga, sound bath, reiki, and expressive arts are offered as part of programming, and every element is optional. They exist because regulation and engagement matter, not to replace clinical treatment.
